Muslims Blockade Christian Village in Egypt, Demand Demolition of Church

According to a story by Mary Abdelmassih for the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA), village Muslims, backed by Muslim Salafists from neighboring villages, have threatened to demolish the church on and use it as a mosque. Muslims Attack Christian Village in Egypt
By Jeremy Reynalds Senior Correspondent for ASSIST News Service EGYPT (ANS) — Muslims attacked Christians in the village of Nazlet Faragallah, in the southern Egyptian Minya province, on the evening of Aug. 7. The attack continued until the early hours of Monday morning, Aug. 8. According to a story by Mary Abdelmassih for the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA), one Copt was murdered and homes were looted and torched when Muslims from Nazlet Faragallah together with Muslims from four neighboring villages started to attack. The violence occurred at about 8 p.m. after Muslims broke their Ramadan fast. Muslims Attack Christians in Egypt, 12 Killed, 232 Injured
By Dan Wooding Founder of ASSIST Ministries CAIRO, EGYPT (ANS) — Christians Copts in the area of Embaba, a suburb of Giza, Al Jizah, Egypt, were attacked Saturday evening by Muslim Salafis, a group that espouse violent Jihad against civilians as a legitimate expression of Islam, and are also known as the so-called Salafi Jihadis. Mary Abdelmassih, a respected Middle East journalist, writing for the Assyrian International News Agency said that the attacks lasted for 14 hours. The Muslims fired guns and rifles and hurled Molotov cocktails at Coptic churches, houses and businesses. 12 Copts were killed and 232 injured. Muslims Attack Christian in Egypt, Cut Off His Ear
By Jeremy Reynalds Senior Correspondent for ASSIST News Service EGYPT (ANS) — A group of Muslims attacked Ayman Anwar Mitri, a Christian Coptic man in the Upper Egyptian town of Qena, cutting off his ear. According to a story by Mary Abdelmassih of the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA), the Muslims claimed they were applying Sharia law because Mitri, 45, allegedly had an affair with a Muslim woman. The Muslims called the police and told them “We have applied the law of Allah, now come and apply your law,” according to Mitri in an interview for the Egyptian Human Rights Organization.
