KARNATAKA, INDIA ANS — Nearly 20 members belonging to the Hindu radical group called Bajrang Dal attacked the house of a Christian believer and accused him of “forceful conversion” at Mangalore in Karnataka state on November 3.

According to an information received by ANS from the Global Council of Indian Christians GCIC, their sources reported that Manjunath, a construction worker and resident of Ankola city, was attacked while he was standing outside his rented residence in an apartment.

The sources also said that the extremists attacked him saying that he was involved in providing assistance to a person residing in the same apartment to get converted to Christianity.

Manjunath told GCIC sources that the allegation made on him is “baseless and false” and said that this could be the will of God for an attack to take place in his life.

The GCIC website www.persecution.in said the radicals forcibly entered the house of Manjunath and searched for Christian literature and as they found some they began to beat him up.

GCIC sources said that most of the neighbours denied knowledge of any conversion activity at his house.
