Missionary’s Life Threatened – Church Construction Halted
SOUTH ASIA – A Gospel for Asia-supported missionary’s life has been threatened by anti-Christian extremists and a church building project was halted after the same group threatened the missionary who serves as pastor of that church.
Several people from this well-known anti-Christian extremist group visited GFA-supported missionary Jayal Ekka’s home Sunday. The men told Jayal that if he didn’t leave the village immediately, they would kill him. Jayal sought counsel from his ministry leader, who is speaking to the local police on Jayal’s behalf. So far, Jayal is staying in place and continuing to minister to the people in the church.
Indra Kanher was overseeing construction of a new church for his growing congregation when members of the same group visited the construction site on Sunday. They asked him to stop the construction because of the national elections that are taking place in that area. Indra had already ordered the cement needed for the job, and he is now concerned that the materials may be ruined before construction can resume.
Indra asks for prayer that the Lord will intervene in this situation so that the church construction can move forward.
Jayal asks for prayer that God will protect him from the men who wish to kill him.
Both pastors ask for prayer that the anti-Christian extremists will come to know the Lord.
