Pastor and Flock Beaten in New Delhi, India

NEW DELHI, INDIA ANS - Hindu radicals have attacked a pastor and other Christians in New Delhi.

According to a story posted on the web site www.persecution.in, Pastor Akbar of Harvest Full Gospel Mission was assaulted on July 5 in Rohini, New Delhi.

According to the story, at about 8 p.m. on the day of the assault, Akbar was leading a prayer meeting. Seven Hindus stormed a believer’s house where the prayer meeting was being held, and accused the pastor of forcibly converting people to Christianity.

In addition, the story continued, the extremists threatened the Christians with dire consequences if they did not stop the meeting immediately.

According to the web site, the radicals then punched and slapped the pastor and other meeting attendees. The story stated that a number of women and children attending the meeting were also attacked.

The victims were sent to an area hospital for medical attention.
