Prayer meeting attacked, pastor, wife and their one year old son severely beaten

CHHATTISGARH, INDIA ANS — A group of 100 Hindu radicals stormed into a worship service and attacked the pastor, his family and the congregation at Bastar district in Chhattisgarh state, India on November 1.

According to the Global Council of Indian Christians GCIC, it was known through their sources that the incident took place at around 11 am, as the worship service was going on.

It was then that the mob of 100 Hindu radicals group not known barged into Milan Prathana Mandir Church and disrupted the worship service. The ministering pastor Raj was accused of “forceful conversion” and was severely beaten up.

They then forcibly grabbed Pastor’s son Akush from his wife and threw him to the ground, leaving him with severe injury on his left ear.

The GCIC news sources reported that the goons not only attacked the pastor and his son but also pastor’s wife and ten other church members.

GCIC website www.persecution.in said that the police arrived at the spot at about 1 pm and pastor was taken to the police station. After reaching the police station he was later sent to the nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is stated to be “very critical.”

The website also added that pastor’s son is facing difficulty in hearing through his left ear.

Local Christian leaders are approaching police officials to register a case against the extremists.
