Iraqi Christians Murdered in their Homes

By Jeremy Reynalds Senior Correspondent for ASSIST News Service COVENTRY, ENGLAND (ANS) — Hundreds of Iraqi Christians are fleeing Baghdad and Mosul as murderers target families in their homes and workplaces. According to a news release from the Barnabas Fund, an elderly Christian couple and their daughter became the latest victims of a continuing campaign against the country’s believers when they were killed in their home on Dec. 5. Four gunmen raided the property in Baghdad and repeatedly shot them with pistols equipped with silencers. The Barnabas Fund said the victims, Hikmat and Samira Sammak – like many Iraqi Christians – had left the capital and gone to live in the north. 2 Christians Killed in Mosul by Islamic Terrorists

SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA – Two Christian sisters were killed this morning in the Al Qahira section in Mosul, Iraq, by Islamic terrorists for just being Christians. The two sisters were murdered as the terrorists stormed into their house. Their mother was severely injured as a result of stab wounds. In addition, the terrorists placed a bomb in the house, which destroyed the small building. A police officer said the terrorists placed another bomb near the house. Son of Murdered Christian is also Killed

Compass Direct News reports: ISTANBUL – An unknown group of armed men killed a Syrian Catholic in violence-plagued Mosul, Iraq two weeks after his father was kidnapped and murdered. The gunmen killed Rayan Nafei Jamooa near his home on Sept. 10. Few details have emerged in the murder case, but sources said he and his father were targeted purely for their faith. Nassar Jamooa, the victim’s father, was kidnapped two weeks before his son’s murder; the elder man’s body was found four days later in the city’s western industrial area. A shrinking minority in Iraq, Christians are frequently kidnapped for a mix of financial and religious reasons, but Nassar Jamooa’s kidnappers did not ask for any ransom.
