VA Attorney Casey Walker Bio | VA Disability Group | A Kalamazoo Law Firm for Veterans

[I] Served in the military. I did five years in
the infantry. I did the Airborne School. [I] did the Ranger school. I met my wife in
Airborne School jumping out of airplanes, as a matter of fact. I really enjoyed the
military. A career, another 12 years, wasn't for me but my heart has a place
with the military. I ended up, after graduating law school, I was picked up for a job as an adjudicator with the VA. So I was working within the government
giving decisions for veterans. That experience left an indelible
impression for me because it gave me the opportunity to see the dire need for
assistance from a legal perspective. Competent representation is absolutely
needed. We just had one case went back to 1972 and it takes a while to win these cases. But when you get these benefits for the veterans, or their loved ones, they're nothing but happy. I'm uniquely situated compared to other
attorneys trying to do this because I have the experience as a veteran and I
served on active duty. I served in combat. I served in Iraq. I also served as an
adjudicator, meaning I was the guy who gave the decisions from the inside
so I know the regulations inside and out. And then lastly, I'm an attorney.
And so that background uniquely situates to have an inner working, an inner
knowledge, of the VA. Eight years ago I sought my accreditation as an attorney and I've never looked back. And so from a practitioner's standpoint, from a veteran's standpoint, and from an attorney who has a lot of family that are veterans – Just a
joy of an area to practice. Just a joy of an area to practice.
